Navel Oranges

Many people praise navels as the best orange in the world for eating out of hand because of their intense sweet flavor, abundant juice, easy to peel thick rind, easily separated segments, and lack of seeds.  They are easily identifiable by their navel-like indentation on the blossom end of the fruit.  Most U.S. navels come from California but not all of them.  Florida also produces a good number of navels that tend to be paler in color and harder to peel, but still very juicy and sweet.
